The Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF) programme is an initiative from the UCL that aims to improve sustainability and efficiency in the laboratory. When joining this programme, labs choose a level to apply for, defined by how many sustainable actions they are taking. After filling a questionnaire, they are assessed by a local administrator who will decide whether or not they are awarded the level they applied for.

The Jacobs' lab decided to apply for the Bronze level and earned it, becoming the first lab at VIB to earn any LEAF award!
